I have this one problem with Tina Fey

Of course I think she's smart and funny (although I can't seem to stay awake during 30 Rock). I just wish her back story didn't include a loss of 15 pounds as a prerequisite for her success in front of the camera. Girls don't need more material for the "if I lose weight my situation will vastly improve" tape loops in their brains.

  1. THANK YOU. I agree completely.

  2. I'm also sad that there are so many eyewear-free shots of her these days. I used to love it that there were glasses on in all her photos, no matter how glamourpuss they were. Imagine how much cooler this shot would be if she were wearing her Buddy Hollies? You might even forgive her for that 15-lb. weight loss.

  3. I don't judge her for the weight loss, I just wish it wasn't a prerequisite for her success, as the legend goes.

  4. I know, right? It's just *such* the mentioned thing. In every.single.interview...

  5. What about all the shitty slut/bimbo-shaming she did and the nasty comments about tattooed women she made on SNL a few weeks ago? That pretty much sealed the deal and put me squarely in the Team Poeler Camp.

  6. This and what Leah Susanna said. Remember that part in Mean Girls when she said "don't call girls sluts and whores" and then when she went on SNL and called Bombshell McGee a slut and a whore and never mentioned that she might also be a Nazi which is kind of worse, I think? And how she never put any blame on Jesse James?

C'mon, Tina! I woulda never thunk!

  7. She actually did mention that she might also be a Nazi. But I get your point.

  10. I didn't know that about Tina Fey but it reminds me of a Fair and Lovely commercial they show here in the Middle East.
