When my boy was little, he would say "valentime" instead of "valentine." Which really makes sense, with Valentine's Day coming right after Christmas time. I never corrected him for this, or for any of the words he mispronounced, because I found it so cute. Despite my best efforts, he eventually learned the proper way to say Valentine, as well as "lellow," "pillowdo" and every other word.
Anyway, I wish you and yours a Happy Valentime's Day.

Such sweet memories! Happy Valentime's Day to you, too, Christina!
ReplyDeleteLove you, Christina.
ReplyDeleteMy little boy said "mow" all the time instead of "meow" and now that he can properly say "meow" I kind of miss "mow." He's only 2! He cracks me up with all the cute stuff he says now.
I love that you posted this today because my 4 year literally shot out of bed this morning saying "Happy Valentime's Day, mom!" I had to laugh. It's the little things like this that make me realize she's still my little girl. Your post made me wistful in advance for the days when she will already know how to say it correctly. How fast they grow!
ReplyDeleteI mourned when my boy stopped saying "ephelant" at 3...
ReplyDeleteAwww, I used to say "Valentime" as a nugget too! In fact, my whole family still calls it Valentime's to this day!
