It is hard to enjoy a water park. Lots of dirty diapers, tattoos, hair extensions floating by, and enough chlorine to make your skin burn. Was this your experience?
There's a place we went to in Texas called "Schlitterbahn" that was amazing. You can bring your own cooler of food! Enough room to sit down! They apparently use fresh river water, so it's not so chlorine-y. Or full of guidos. I've heard several Mom horror stories of kids getting (relatively mild) stomach bug things at Sesame Place and Great Wolf Lodge.
You went to Water Works. When I was a kid you could bring your report card with at least one A & get in for free. You'd also get a mysteriously sore throat & possibly athlete's foot. Sounds like you made the best of it though.
