I love the Dove commercials, although I wonder if they're preaching to the choir or if they're really making people think who otherwise might not. There's always hope!
That's a good one. This was part of the "Dove Campaign for Real Beauty" that happened a while back, but I think they've kept it going since then. Here's the other great commercial from that campaign:

And here's the mean-spirited but INCREDIBLY well-done parody:
I love these ads but was surprised to learn the same parent company (Unilever) sells skin lightening creams in India. The offensive ads they run there show the protagonist's life changing for the better once she becomes lighter. Talk about beauty pressure.
This is such a great ad. It's true that the beauty industry throws everything in our faces - everything we should be, but aren't, naturally. Nobody's ever good enough. I'm glad Dove is still going strong with their "real beauty" initiatives.
It's definitely a fantastic ad. I was just on a shoot and thinking about it. Between EVERY shot the model made an adjustment -- hair, makeup, pose, fan position.
great ad!!!
ReplyDeletedo you know the name of the song?
Simian - La Breeze

ReplyDeleteBest ad I've seen in a while.
ReplyDeleteUnilever makes Dove commercials but it also makes Axe commercials.
ReplyDeleteAnd the campaign for real beauty pictures were retouched.
